How to Define Stores
Summary
Stores represent the areas to be monitored by our providers to provide footfall measurement for your Drive-to-store campaign.
Stores are declared at Line level, so that you can activate the footfall measurement for any of its relevant tactics and hence achieve an uplift in physical visits to the store through different strategies.
For you to be able to create one or more stores, it is required to enable one of the available Drive to Store Add-ons from the Add-ons section.
We'll guide you through these steps, though we'll assume here that you have already created an order.
STEP 1. Go to the Strategy Page
Once you have created your Order, click on the Strategy action button in your Order's top bar to land on the Strategy page.
STEP 2. Click on + New Line
Click + New Line to add a new Line. Note that a template Tactic will also be created to inherit the Line settings you will enter next.
STEP 3. Enter General Settings
Field | Mandatory | Description |
---|---|---|
Line name | REQUIRED | The name of the Line |
Sell budget | OPTIONAL | Here you can enter the budget you have received from the agency that commissioned the campaign. You may use it to calculate your margin. |
Media budget | REQUIRED | Here you must enter the total budget you wish to spend for this Line. Line budget cannot be higher than the Order's budget |
Technical fees | - | The Technical fees charged by Fusio according to the conditions stipulated in your contract. |
Description | OPTIONAL | A text to better identify the Line or leave any comments for other colleagues that may view or manage this Line |
STEP 4. Enable a Drive-to-store Add-on
Under Add-Ons, enable your preferred Drive-to-store add-on by clicking on Yes.
Please note that additional costs will apply.
STEP 5. Select a Store Creation Option
A new Drive-to-Store section will appear in the Line Settings form.
STEP 6. Select a Store Country
Select the Store country where your stores are located. Only the countries where your service is available will be listed.
STEP 7a. Add a Store Manually
- If you wish to monitor visits for up to 25 stores (for which you may not know their latitude/longitude coordinates yet), click + Add new Store. The manual Store creation form will open.
For each store, enter the following information:
Field | Mandatory | Description |
---|---|---|
Address | REQUIRED | Your store address. It should contain address, city and country information in order to avoid mismatching. |
Measurement Radius | REQUIRED | The radius in meters within which you want physical visits to be monitored. The larger the retail store's surface, the larger we recommend setting your radius.
|
Store ID | - | An ID that will be automatically assigned to your store. |
STEP 7b. Import Stores from CSV file (Recommended)
If you wish to monitor a larger number of stores, you may want to create them in batch by uploading a .csv file containing the following information for each store.
choose Upload stores.
Field | Mandatory | Description |
---|---|---|
Name | REQUIRED | The name of the Store |
Lat | REQUIRED unless Address is entered | The latitude of the centre of the Store. |
Long | REQUIRED unless Address is entered | The longitude of the centre of the Store |
Address | REQUIRED unless Lat, Long are entered | The address of the Store (street name and number). For better accuracy, we recommend filling the Lat and Long coordinates fields over the Address field. |
City | REQUIRED unless Lat, Long are entered | The city of the Store |
Zipcode | REQUIRED unless Lat, Long are entered | The zipcode of the Store |
Country | REQUIRED unless Lat, Long are entered | The country of the Store |
Radius | REQUIRED | A numeric value included between 0.01 and 1, representing the radius in KM around the center of your store where visits will be measured. E.g. to enable a 50m observation radius, enter 0.05 in this field E.g. to enable a 100m observation radius, enter 0.1 in this field Min: 0.01 for Ask Locala Measurement, 0.03 for Adsquare. |
You can download a .CSV template here to create a few test stores on the interface:
Please note that the upload of a significant number of stores may take a while to be processed, so they won't be instantly displayed on the interface. After saving your Line, you will need to get back to this page in a while to see them appear.
Tips for Stores File Upload
Check for Missing Mandatory Data
- Check for missing mandatory data in the file. See the table just above to see the mandatory columns to be filled.
Avoid Special Characters
- Check for the presence of any ‘special characters’ in the values you provide; the system does not recognize files with special characters in label, address etc.
Please remove or replace all special characters before saving the file.
Be Careful of Extra Commas in Addresses
- Check for any commas in the cell values, especially in the "address" line! As we use a .csv file, commas in your cell values will distort the file incorrectly while uploading. If your address line is for instance
"1, Piazza del Duomo" we recommend removing the comma so that the system won't be tricked to think that it's two separate fields. Hence, please rather enter "1 Piazza del Duomo"
Address field can take the full address
To avoid mismatching between addresses from different cities, it is encouraged to enter the full address without commas (including zip code and city) in the "address field".
Example:
if your full target address is: Victoria Embankment, Westminster, London SW1A 2JH, Great Britain
then you may enter in the "address" field:
Victoria Embankment Westminster London SW1A 2JH
MS Excel Users: Make Sure Columns are Separated by Commas
- We have also noticed that some MS Excel default saving configurations will have your CSV file use semi-colons ( ; ) as separators instead of commas ( , ), and add quotes (" ") at the beginning and at the end of your csv's lines.
As such, we recommend you open your CSV file in a text editor before uploading it to make sure that values are separated by commas.
You can follow these steps:- On MS Excel, when saving your CSV file, go to File menu, select “Save As…” and then select “UTF-8 CSV” format.
- After saving the file in this format, open the file in a text editor (like Notepad). You will observe all the comma ( , ) separated values are now separated by semi-colon ( ; )
- Verify that Excel has not added quotes (" ") at the beginning and at the end of your csv's line.
- Opt for a FIND AND REPLACE in the text editor
- Find all semi-colons ( ; ) and Replace them by commas ( , )
- Save the file again
- Upload the file on Fusio
Check for Extra Lines at the Bottom
- We received reports of csv files containing an empty last line looking like: ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Remove such empty lines before uploading the file.
Check for Duplicate Lines at the Bottom
- Check for the presence of any duplicate lines in your files: submitting the same lat/long in two or more lines may result in the whole upload failing.
Make sure all your Stores belong to the same country
- All the lat/long of the stores in your .csv file should belong to the same country declared in the previous step. The presence of a store from a different country may result in the whole upload failing.
STEP 8. Click Save
After filling in all the other sections, you can save your Line by clicking Save.
The Stores will be created, and now you are ready to set up your tactics to make your Drive to Store campaign a success!
